On Wednesday, June 24 to Friday, June 27 Rutgers Phi Beta Lambda participated in the National PBL Leadership Conference held in Chicago, Illinois. PBL members competed against several universities across the United States, and received a total of 18 national awards and honors. Students were eligible to compete in the National Conference based on placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at the NJ PBL State Leadership Conference held this past March. Rutgers Phi Beta Lambda members received national awards in competitive events ranging from Impromptu Speaking and Business Sustainability to even technical events such as Information Management and Computer Concepts. Montu Patel, a sophomore at RBS majoring in BAIT said, “NLC 2015 was a great experience for me because I learned a lot of valuable skills through competitions, and had a fun time with friends new and old.” Another attendee, Sahithi Talagadadeevi, a junior majoring in Finance stated, “My favorite part of the conference was getting to network with students from all across the nation. It was a great opportunity to represent Rutgers University on the national stage”. The National Conference allowed both recent graduates of Rutgers University and current students to display their business and leadership aptitude outside the classroom. Students of all class years and majors are welcome to join Rutgers PBL for the upcoming school year.
