Big Chill Charity Race!
Here at Rutgers FBLA-PBL, Community Service plays a rather substantial role. A true leader encompasses several qualities, one being the compassion to serve others. This being said, PBL is giving you an opportunity to take your involvement in the organization to a whole new level.
Come out and participate in the Annual Big Chill, a Charity Race to Help Kids! It will be held on Saturday, December 11th in front of the College Avenue Gym! The race/walk will start at 9am but registration and signup will start at 7:30PM!
About the Race
The Big Chill is a truly unique charitable event in which registration is simply to bring in a new toy for a child (try to make it unisex) between the ages of 3 and 14. It is a 5K race that was first held in 2003 and since then, participation in the event has nearly tripled. The Big Chill has become New Jersey's second largest race and one of the best conducted races. Last year, on Race Day, an astounding number of 6000 toys were collected--all of which were sent to New Brunswick and Franklin Housing Authority, The Salvation Army Bristo-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital, the American Red Cross of Central New Jersey and many more. It is a great opportunity to brighten up a child's holiday season by simply donating a toy. In addition, Big Chill is one the largest events here on campus; many students, professors, and others in the community!
SO, REGISTER TODAY. Register as a member of the team "Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL)"
ALSO, you have to opportunity to volunteer either before, during or after the event. Check out the volunteer link for more details!
THE [basic] DETAILS
WHEN: Saturday, December 11th
TIME: Race line-up is at 9am, sign-in
WHERE: College Avenue Gym (right next to the Rutgers Student Center)
WHAT DO I BRING WITH ME? a NEW toy for kids between the ages of 3 and 14

I encourage each one of you to come out to this amazing event; I promise that you will have fun, especially knowing that you have made a difference in a child's holiday season. So, please sign up as a member of our team #132 "Phi Beta Lamdba (FBLA-PBL)".
